Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) [45 min]

This service is excellent for injuries and areas of discomfort caused by overuse and repetitive motions to certain muscles/muscle groups. NMT works with the insertion and attachment points of your musculature for the release of tension and chronically contracted muscles which have remained in fixed positions over extended periods of time and have begun to lack range of motion. There will be static pressure applied to specific locations on your body aimed at stimulating the muscle(s) to release. You will be in frequent communication with your therapist for this service and guided through breathing, and breathing with movement. You may be asked to engage your body by verbal directions from your therapist, as well as movements of your body which may be performed by your therapist. This method is commonly used not only in massage therapy, but also in the offices of occupational therapy, physical therapy, chiropractic, as well as many other pain management centers world-wide.
